Please note that the next meeting of the ACBS-NYC ACT study group will take place on Thursday September 19th. Our speaker this month will be Dr. Mike Femenella. New members are welcome!!
The local chapter of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS-NYC) brings you a chance to learn more about Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Contextual Behavioral Science (CBS) & Relational Frame Theory (RFT). Regular monthly meetings the third Thursday of every month, from 7:00-8:45, at The Village Community School, 272-278 West 10th Street, NYC
FACILITATORS & PARTICIPANTS: Dr. Michael Femenella will be an ongoing host to the group. Other experienced ACT speakers will be rotated monthly over the course of this coming year, giving our NY community a chance to experience a variety of personal interpretations of ACT.
This group compliments the ACT peer-to-peer supervision groups running in the NY area which may be “closed” to new members (e.g., ACT-NYCE), and therefore provides a viable alternative to participants looking to flexibly attend (or not) on any given month. We hope to draw a very diverse group of participants, from the very ACT experienced attendee, to those who may know little to nothing about ACT, from out of town ACT speakers, to local ACT notorieties, from CBT’ers looking to integrate ACT, to contextualists of all stripes and psychotherapeutic orientations.
